Hello.  Thank you for taking the time to look at our website.  I know how difficult it is to select a residency.  It was hard enough just figuring out that you wanted to be a family physician.  Now you have to decide exactly where you want to go; with over 400 places to choose from.  Your choice of residency programs will likely depend on the answers you discover to some very important questions.  Is the program located in a community that provides the kind of lifestyle that I want? Is this a community-based or university-based training experience? Does the call schedule seem appropriate? Are the current residents happy and satisfied with their training? What is the reputation of the faculty?  Do they seem committed to supporting and teaching residents? Many of your questions can be answered on the Internet. Most of them will only be answered during your visit. Ultimately, you must decide if the program fits with what you need to grow personally and professionally as you prepare for a career in family medicine.
