St. Anthony’s Breast Center was developed by busy women like you. We know that waiting for your mammogram results can be a period of uncertainty, so that is why we’ve gone digital. With our digital mammograms, you know your results before you leave the hospital. And if something is detected, we’ve left room in our schedule to perform a biopsy the same day. We’ve streamlined our process so you can get most of your testing done in one day, making your busy life a little easier. You can also schedule your appointment online, so you can choose the day and time that works best for your busy schedule.
If digital mammography isn’t right for you, we offer an array of diagnostic tests.
Breast MRI combines the newest MRI technology with a breast coil to provide clearer images for women with implants or very dense breast tissue. It also provides accurate staging of breast cancer prior to surgery.
Ultrasound is an effective diagnostic tool for women with palpable lumps, dense breast tissue, or anyone who should not be exposed to radiation.
Ductography provides valuable information on the location of lesions within the ducts.
Stereotactic and ultrasound core biopsies are alternatives to surgical biopsy where small tissue samples are extracted for analysis. No surgery, no stitches.
Surgical biopsy is sometimes the preferred method for extracting tissue for analysis and is usually performed on an outpatient basis.
The Breast Center at St. Anthony Hospital also offers a variety of treatment options for women like you. From surgery to chemotherapy to High Dose Rate breast brachytherapy, we’ll work together to find the best treatment for you.
