The "senior years" can be a time filled with great challenges, especially for seniors facing mental health problems. Depression, anxiety, dementia or other mental health problems added to the normal health challenges of aging can create difficult situations for seniors and their families.

St. Anthony's Geriatric Diagnostic Center focuses on helping these senior adults live fuller lives with greater independence. Located on the St. Anthony South campus in south Oklahoma City, the Geriatric Diagnostic Center offers 24-hour inpatient care for a full range of mental health issues, as well as medical care for any health problems the senior may be facing.

Our Saints Stages Program offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient as an alternative to or as a stepdown from inpatient care.

Specialized services and a multidisciplinary approach help ensure proper diagnosis and treatment critical to stabilizing acute problems and minimizing the effects of chronic conditions.

The Treatable Signs of Aging
Senior adults often display symptoms which indicate emotional, psychiatric, behavioral or stress-related problems. These problems can be medical or psychological in nature or, in many cases, a combination of both. Once considered “normal signs of aging,” many mental health problems are actually symptoms of treatable conditions. With proper diagnosis and treatment, there can be remarkable improvements in a senior’s quality of life and relationship with family and friends.
