August 14, 2008 ( Oklahoma City , OK ) -- Marine Sgt. Michael Lauderback and his wife Jessica Lauderback just had their first baby. The problem is, Sgt. Lauderback is serving our country in active duty in Fallujah, Iraq, and Jessica, who lives in Blanchard, Oklahoma, gave birth early this morning at St. Anthony Hospital. New technology will link Mike to his wife and newborn daughter tomorrow morning at St. Anthony Hospital. You are invited to join in this intimate conversation and get video and/or pictures of the new family. Previously St. Anthony linked a military family together in a similar way, but this interaction is different for two reasons. This time the media and military wife have the ability to see the proud father via video while he talks from Iraq. Technology advances this story to be even more heart warming when media is allowed to see Sgt. Lauderback's reaction when he sees his baby for the first time. And, secondly, a non profit charity, Freedom Calls Foundation is partnering with St. Anthony to make this possible. Freedom Calls Foundation and St. Anthony provide this hour long family visit for free. Many military families don't know about this charitable organization that provides free services.
Due to a limited connection, media will only be allowed 15 minutes in the room to ask questions and get video and/or pictures. This will be done in a press conference style, tomorrow, Friday, August 15th at 11:00 am in Joyful Beginnings birthing center at St. Anthony Hospital. Call 272-7383 by Friday at 10:00 am to book your space.
Sgt. Lauderback just traveled from Ramadi, Iraq to Fallujah, Iraq to see his son and wife. If you are interested in having access to this, please reserve your spot now.
