SSM President/CEO Bill Thompson Talks About the Future of Health Care

At the 2012 SSM Leadership Conference, SSM President/CEO Bill Thompson closed the event by telling the more than 500 employees and physicians that he was "in awe" of the dedication of the system's employees and physicians and was certain they could meet the many challenges ahead for health care.
Said Thompson, "...We must have courage, hope and optimism. It has been said that the best way to predict the future is to create it. We must have the courage to face our fears and the uncertainties before us and create what has not been created before.
"We must have optimism that our efforts will lead to change that will result in healthier people and healthier communities. And we must be steadfast and enthusiastic in our quest for change, so the naysayers fall away, and we are able to achieve all that is possible."
