Paid Time Off
Paid Time Off (PTO) provides for the accrual of time to be used by full and part-time employees for vacations, holidays, short term illnesses and other absences from scheduled work. We recognize the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Tuition Reimbursement or Pre-Paid/Loan Payment Reimbursement
A tuition reimbursement or pre-paid benefit is available to full- and part-time employees interested in furthering their education. Books may also be covered. Loan reimbursement applies toward the principal for an active loan and must be from a financial, government or educational agency for post-secondary education. New employees must complete six months employment within SSM Health Care to qualify for this benefit.
SSM supports family life by offering employees an adoption reimbursement benefit equal to the amount paid by the medical plan for an uncomplicated childbirth.
Medical Plan Contribution Discount
Employees are eligible for a discount on their employee contribution made toward coverage under an SSM Health Care medical plan. Employees, full- and and part-time, are eligible for this benefit if they have at least one year of continuous employment with SSM. They must also meet certain income requirements based on your household income and size of family.
SSM Health Care offers eligible employees a flexible benefits program called FlexCare. FlexCare offers you the opportunity to pick and choose the medical, dental, vision, life/accidental death dismemberment, dependent term life, spending accounts and long-term disability coverage that will meet your individual needs. Tax Free!
Legally Domiciled Adult
SSM Health Care is extending its employer-sponsored plan so its employees have an opportunity to cover one additional adult that may not be his/her spouse, known as a “legally domiciled adult." Please note that the additional adult is in addition to the employee, for a total of two. This benefit applies to our medical, dental and vision coverage.
Tax Deferred Annuity Program 403 (b)
This plan offers employees a method to invest, on a pre-tax basis, to create or supplement your retirement income. In addition to the advantages of a pre-tax contribution, you will be able to defer paying any taxes on the investment income that is earned until you receive payments from the TDA.
Match Savings Program 401 (a)
All eligible employees who participate in our voluntary Tax Deferred Annuity Program will receive a match from SSM Health Care on a portion of their contribution.
The Pension Plan is a defined benefit plan that provides lifetime retirement income to vested and eligible employees at retirement age. This is in addition to any benefits you may receive from the Social Security system. You are automatically a participant when you reach age 18 and complete one year of employment during which you work at least 1,000 hours.
Phased retirement program
At the age of 62, you can receive pension benefits while continuing to work. Retirees must be vested and eligible.
