SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center is a 190-bed inpatient and outpatient pediatric medical center specializing in neonatology, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, hemotology (bleeding disorders) and oncology (cancer services). The hospital is home to the Bob Costas Cancer Center, the St. Louis Cord Blood Bank, the Pediatric Research Institute, and the Missouri Regional Poison Center, which provides free statewide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Opened in 1828, SSM DePaul Health Center is the first hospital west of the Mississippi River and the oldest continuously existing business in St. Louis. Located in the fast-growing southwest corridor of St. Louis, St. Clare is a replacement for the 70-year-old St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood. The new facility is six miles from the Kirkwood site.
SSM St. Joseph Health Center, located in historic downtown St. Charles, has been serving the needs of the community since 1885. The 364-bed hospital is a state-designated trauma center and offers highly-specialized care for critically ill patients, including those who need open heart surgery and neurosurgery. St. Joseph Health Center also offers high-risk obstetric services, sleep medicine services, surgical services, oncology, vascular surgery, orthopedics and more. The 71-bed SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Wentzville offers inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for adults, adolescents and seniors, including a Mental Retardation and Developmentally Disabled (MRDD) unit. SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Wentzville also offers patients a 24-hour emergency department, as well as convenient access to outpatient programs, including diagnostic services such as radiology (MRI, CT and mammography), laboratory, cardiology and pulmonary services.
In 1986, SSM St. Joseph Hospital West was built to serve residents in the western portion of St. Charles County. The 125-bed hospital is a state-designated trauma center, and specializes in obstetric and pediatric services. Recognized as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in America, St. Joseph Hospital West also excels in trauma and emergency services, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), surgical services, gastroenterology, and more. St. Mary's Health Center is a major teaching hospital affiliated with St. Louis University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. SSM Rehab
SSM Rehab is the most comprehensive provider of rehabilitation services in the St. Louis metropolitan area. As a 100-bed rehabilitation hospital, SSM Rehab specializes in acute inpatient rehabilitation of individuals with brain, spinal cord and orthopedic injury, and amputation, stroke and neurological disorders. SSM Rehab’s outpatient services offer a full range of physical therapy services and many specialty rehabilitation programs.
