NEW ST. CLARE HOSPICE CENTER WILL SERVE END-OF-LIFE NEEDS
“Faith, hope and love remain. The greatest of these is love.”-1 Corinthians 13:13
In order to better serve the community’s end-of-life needs, the St. Clare Health Care Foundation is raising funds to build a hospice facility on St. Clare Meadows Care Center property on Jefferson Street in Baraboo.
Hospice is a special kind of care that provides comprehensive physical, emotional and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families and caregivers during the final stages of life.
The need for a local hospice center is great because this type of facility currently doesn’t exist anywhere in the Baraboo/Wisconsin Dells area. The closest hospice inpatient facilities are located in Madison and in Tomah. Therefore, as part of St. Clare’s commitment to serve patients throughout all stages of life, the St. Clare Health Care Foundation is partnering with the community to build the St. Clare Hospice Center.
The 4,000-square-foot, $450,000 St. Clare Hospice Center will offer a quiet, peaceful and home-like environment with four rooms to accommodate patients and their family members, a meditation room with a fireplace, entrances from outside as well as inside the Meadows, a patio, lounges and seating areas, and a dining/activity room with a kitchen. Compassionate, qualified staff will provide a comprehensive network of hospice services. Patients will be eligible for full hospice services provided by Home Health United.
