The St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary is a group of individuals from varied backgrounds whose primary focus is to aid in promoting the health and welfare of the community by providing services to St. Francis Hospital and its patients. The Auxiliarys primary functions are to raise money for health care equipment and services, and to work together in organizing community service projects and social events throughout the year.
Over the years, the Auxiliary has received recognition from the Maryville Citizens for Community Action for outstanding service projects.
A guild was established in 1955 to give assistance to hospital staff, patients and their families and to raise funds for needed hospital equipment and improvements. Out of this guild, the Auxiliary was formally organized in 1976. As a charter member of the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries, members can benefit from state conventions, programs and various regional workshops.
Annual meetings are held three times a year in September, November and February. The executive board and various committees provide planning and direction for all Auxiliary programs. The executive board meets monthly and all interested members are welcome to attend.
