The St. Joseph Health Center and St. Joseph Hospital West Auxiliary was founded in 1935 by a small group of ladies with a desire to support the hospital and comfort its patients. The group worked with Hospital Administration and the Franciscan Sisters of Mary to organize the Auxiliary. Their first project was to provide a water fountain and each patient's room was given a carafe with water.
From this humble beginning, the Auxiliary has grown into a dedicated group of individuals, who make patient care and community services their primary mission, assisting with the purchase and maintenance of more sophisticated equipment, such as radiation equipment and cath labs.
Our mission is to offer our members an opportunity to assist the hospital by sponsoring fundraising activities, by being of service to patients, families, employees, and physicians, and by acting as good will ambassadors to the community at large.
Activities
The Auxiliary serves the St. Joseph Health Center and St. Joseph Hospital West community with an array of fundraising activities directed to key financial areas. Fellowship opportunities are regularly scheduled for members and their guests.
